Isolation

  1. Take the dog by the collar (use a Slip Lead if there is a chance you may be bitten) and put them somewhere safe, where they cannot get to or see any person or other dog. This should be done in a calm and quiet but firm manner.
  2. Leave them in isolation until they are quiet and relaxed.
  3. Release the dog.
  4. Once released, ignore the dog completely. Do not speak to them and avoid eye contact.
  5. Again, when they are quiet, calm and relaxed, call the dog to you, when they come reward and praise the dog.
  6. You can now continue as normal.

If at any time the dog shows any form of aggression or performs any unacceptable behaviour, immediately isolate the dog again. If the dog fails to come when asked, ignore them for a few minutes and then try calling them again.
